Rabbit Hole — Steve Gadd and the US Army Field Band Rock the “Cissy Strut.”

You know how it is with YouTube. Sometimes you just end up in a place you never imagined. Usually ok if you start with a great song like the Meter’s classic “Cissy Strut.”

If you don’t know Steve Gadd, just think about the drum part that starts Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.” He’s the genius behind hundreds of songs you’ve heard by acts including Steely Dan and many others. Even if you know his work, I bet you never saw him keeping time and crushing the fills in full US Army Dress uniform. Fun stuff!

Steve Gadd rocks the “Cissy Strut” in the early 70’s while a drummer in the US Army.
Don’t forget to buy your tickets to the 12th Annual Blues & Views Festival in Westport, CT this August 31 and September 1.
